Traditional Chhath Puja Prasad Recipes
Cooking Chhath Prasad requires utmost devotion, clean kitchen tools, and authentic traditional ingredients.
1. Thekua (Crispy Wheat & Jaggery Cookies)
Knead coarse wheat flour with ghee (shortening), fennel seeds, crushed coconut, and dark jaggery syrup into a stiff dough. Mold into pattern shapes and fry on low flame in pure ghee until dark golden.
2. Rasiya (Jaggery Rice Kheer)
Boil whole milk, add fragrant raw rice (Arwa Chawal), and simmer until thick. Turn off heat before stirring in natural powdered jaggery to avoid curdling.
3. Kasar (Rice Powder Ladoo)
Coarsely grind dry roasted raw rice into powder. Mix with warm ghee and jaggery powder, shaping into firm small balls while warm.
