The Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to Jean-Marie Gustave Le Cl�zio for his literary works that explore cultural diversity. The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Martti Ahtisaari for his work in resolving conflicts in various parts of the world. The Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded to Paul Krugman for his work in international trade theory.
