Tsien for their discovery and development of the green fluorescent protein. The Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded to Harald zur Hausen, Fran�oise Barr�-Sinoussi, and Luc Montagnier for their work in discovering the viruses that cause cervical cancer and AIDS. The Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to Jean-Marie Gustave Le Cl�zio for his literary works that explore cultural diversity. The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Martti Ahtisaari for his work in resolving conflicts in various parts of the world.
