(Letter) मयारू संगवारी, ये पइत तोर घर आके दीया नइ बार सकेंव, तेकर सेती ये संदेसा संग भेजत हंव एक ठन माटी के दीया, थोरकिन अइरसा के मिठास अउ अब्बड़ मया : अपन खिड़की म मढ़ा लेबे, हमन एके अंजोर म हन। Dear friend, I couldn't come to light a lamp at your home this time, so I'm sending a clay lamp, a little arsa sweetness and lots of love : set it in your window; we're in the same light.
(Nostalgic) सुरता हे, लइकई म दाई संग घर ल गोबर ले लीपन, सुआ नाच देखे बर गाँव-गाँव किंजरन अउ भइया संग फटाका बर झगरा? उही भोला खुसी ये देवारी फेर तुंहर घर लहुटय। Remember plastering the house with cow dung alongside mother as kids, wandering village to village to watch the Suwa dance and fighting with brother over crackers? (Spiritual) लछमी दाई तुंहर कोठी ल धान अउ धन ले भर देवय, गणेस जी हर बिघन ल हरय, अउ महामाया दाई के किरपा बछर भर तुंहर परिवार उपर बने रहय। May Mother Lakshmi fill your granary with paddy and wealth, may Ganesh ji remove every obstacle, and may Mother Mahamaya's grace stay on your family all year.
(Eco-friendly) ये पइत माटी के दीया बारव, फटाका कम अउ हांसी जादा रखव, गाय-गरुवा अउ सियान मन के धियान रखव : तभे छत्तीसगढ़ के हवा कइही के ये देवारी सिरतोन सुभ रहिस। This time light clay lamps, keep crackers few and laughter plenty, care for the cattle and the elders : then Chhattisgarh's air will say this Devari was truly auspicious.
